Currently in China, there is a lot of space for urban transformation, which is often referred to as the urban recession. This site is located in Sitangyicun, Shanghai, China, which has the traditional function as a long market to serve the surrounding old community. The two main problems of the site including the relatively closed condition and excessively single function, which require us to break the regional boundaries and establish a circulation network. Plus, the feedback adjustment mechanism is applied to the site. Based on preserving the original function of the traditional market, a free community open system is provided to serve the residents site to reactivate the site.
